Living Stones In The House

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day

“You also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”

(1 Peter 2:5 NASB)

God is building a spiritual house made of living stones. That’s what He calls us. We are the building material God uses to build His house. Like putting a puzzle together where all the pieces have legs, God is putting His Church together with living stones.

We must, therefore, let ourselves be used in this spiritual temple and we must not be running off where we would be counted absent from God’s design.

The Message Bible says: “Present yourselves as building stones for the construction of a sanctuary vibrant with life, in which you’ll serve as holy priests offering Christ-approved lives up to God.”

This holy priesthood is the ministry responsibility of every believer. With the help of Jesus Christ, we will offer sacrifices that please God. These sacrifices include our praise and worship, our prayers and petitions for both saints and sinners alike, and our tithes and offerings to help take care of the business part of God’s house.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

I am a living stone in the house of God and I offer up sacrifices acceptable to Him.
