“Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been a long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works” (John 14:8-10).
Philip had one burning desire in his heart – for Jesus to show them the Father. You see, before Jesus walked on this earth, the world didn’t understand God. They didn’t know what God looked like.
Then Jesus came along as love manifested in the flesh, and He said, “If you want to know what the Father looks like, look at Me. I’ll show you what the Father looks like, sounds like and acts like, because I only do that which I see my Father do” (John 5:19).
That’s a strong statement! Jesus also said in that verse, “The Father in Me is doing the work. I’m not healing people; God is healing them through Me.” Therefore, everything Jesus did had to be the will of God, because if it wasn’t God’s will, Jesus couldn’t do it. If God didn’t supply the power, Jesus couldn’t give it out.
Jesus acted out God’s will for the human race. And what did Jesus do? He healed all those who would receive their healing in faith. What didn’t He do? He didn’t make people sick, and He didn’t leave them sick if they believed Him to be healed.
So study the ministry of Jesus, and you’ll know for a fact that sickness isn’t God’s will, but healing is!
While Jesus walked on this earth, He revealed the Father’s desire to
heal His people. Just like Jesus, my Father heals me when I come
to Him in faith to be healed. My God is a good and merciful God!
