More than Conquerors

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day

“Nay, in all these things we are more than conqueror through him that loved us.”

(Rom. 8:37)

In this scripture, to be more than a conqueror means to gain a decisive victory: that is vanquishing your enemy way beyond expectation, and to be more than a match for your opponent. It would be a terrific statement just to say we can conquer every situation we find ourselves in. Yet we have been given the word that in everything we will go beyond just conquering it. We will go all the way to total victory and the spoils thereof.

The Message Bible says: “None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us.”

Life has a lot of obstacles and heartaches in it. Yet we are assured that we are able to overcome all these things and more through God’s love. Jesus is the one who loves us and gives us complete victory in all these difficulties.

Therefore, it stands to reason that we will not let even the thought of failure or defeat find an easy entrance into our vessel. We are more than conquerors because God says we are and that settles it.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

Even as death had power to rule over me because of sin, yet now, God much more has the right to rule over me because of Jesus.
