No Condemnation

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”

(Rom. 8:1)

This verse simply means that those who are in Christ Jesus will not be judged as sinners. If you belong to Jesus, you won’t be punished for your sins, for they are gone. So those who are believers in Christ Jesus can no longer be condemned with the unsaved of the world.

God now looks favorably on you aside from the fact you have sinned, because of your joining together with Jesus.

The Message Bible says: “With the arrival of Jesus, the Messiah, that fateful dilemma is resolved. Those who enter into Christ’s being-here-for-us no longer have to live under a continuous, low-lying black cloud.”

What a joy it is to walk about not conducting ourselves according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Consequently, there is now no condemnation to the ones who are in Christ Jesus. All the condemning accusations have been answered. We are free of the condemnation of sin.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

Right now there is no condemnation for me because of what Jesus has done. Therefore, others cannot condemn me and I must not condemn myself.
