Do you realize that you and I are watching events take place in our world today that were written and declared by men of God centuries ago?
It is obvious that God has His hand upon this planet and from the very beginning of time; He has established an appointment with destiny.
God has already expressed His will for our lives. If you are deeply committed to Him, then he is ordering your steps, and your life will turn out just the way He planned it. Doesn’t it bring great comfort to you to know that the One Who created the universe is in charge of your destiny?
God moved on holy men, our forefathers, in days past and inspired them to speak utterances into this universe. He inspired them to write things about the generations to come. Just think what the odds are of someone prophesying 700 years before the birth of Christ, that He would be born in Bethlehem, and it being fulfilled.
The psalmist in Psalm 22, prophesied that Jesus’ hands and feet would be pierced, signifying crucifixion. This was written by divine inspiration 500 years before crucifixion became a means of execution. God’s Word is precise! The Bible gives specific details, and they come to pass just as they were spoken.
Someone once asked me how I could base my life, my success, and my destiny on something men wrote when we know that men are capable of failure. I answered it this way: “Because Jesus did. He based His life and destiny on God’s Word spoken through men.”
On the Mount of Temptation, when Satan came against Jesus, He did not say, “Get behind me, Satan, because I am the Son of God.” He based overcoming that temptation on something men wrote, inspired by the Holy Spirit. Jesus said, “It is written…” He believed that what Moses wrote was accurate and precise, and He based His success on it.
If Jesus trusted in what Moses wrote under the inspiration of God, then we can trust what Jesus, Peter, John, or James said. We can know that they spoke under the inspiration of God, and their words will cause us to overcome as well.
God wants us to have hope for the future. He wants us to know that no matter what Satan attempts, God is still in control. He has a wonderful future planned for us.
We must not allow adversity to destroy our hope for the future. If we’ll be patient, and remain uncompromising, God promises that His plans for our lives will come to pass. Keep your expectancy high today, and even though the world is in turmoil, have hope for the future.
