You have been born from above. Men can produce human life, but the Holy Spirit gives the new life from heaven.
“Just as you can hear the wind but cannot tell where it comes from our where it will go next, so it is with the Spirit. We do not know on whom He will next bestow this life from heaven” (John 3:8 TLB).
This is obtained when we obey two laws: First is the law of assimilation. The second law is the transmission and reception.
First, in becoming a new creature, let’s consider the law of assimilation. It is a natural law, but it illustrates a spiritual principle.
As the mineral kingdom cannot project itself into the animal kingdom, but must be digested and assimilated by the kingdom for above it, so the human family cannot project itself into the family of God, but must be born from above.
Physically the grass assimilates the mineral content from the earth; the cattle digests and assimilates the grass. Man digests and assimilates food.
Spiritually, God reaches down, receives us, and assimilates us into Christ Jesus our Lord.
We become part of His Body, the Church, which is the family of God. Our body has many parts, but the many parts make up the one body when they are all put together.
So it is with the body of Christ. Each of us is a part of that Body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:12-13). Since you are a part of the Body, you should join with other believers in the local church Body.
“Lets us not neglect our church…meetings, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of His coming back again is drawing near” (Heb.10:25 TLB).
