People Are Not The Problem

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

(Eph. 6:12 NASB)

The devil’s rank and file forces use guerilla warfare. He often attacks our blind side, involving people that we know and love and would expect to support us and not attack us.

The Message Bible says: “This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels.”

We are not fighting against people, even when the conflict is coming at us through people. We are fighting against spiritual forces and authorities that are taking advantage of human weaknesses in order to manifest their will and influence in the world.

In other words, if the devil never found a willing vessel to work through, his words and deeds would never be heard or seen. That’s what Heaven will be like.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

My struggle is never with people, but is always with spiritual forces around me.
