Perfected For All Time

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day

“For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.”

(Heb. 10:14 NASB)

Jesus presented Himself to God and offered His blood as a one-time sacrifice for all people. God accepted that offering and declared us to be restored to His good graces. By His single offering, Jesus has forever completely cleansed and perfected those who accept Him, and they are forever set apart for God’s use.

The Message Bible says: “It was a perfect sacrifice by a perfect person to perfect some very imperfect people. By that single offering, he did everything that needed to be done for everyone who takes part in the purifying process.”

Because this is a finished fact, we can now approach God without fear of rejection or condemnation. Even though we are “very imperfect people” we are fully welcomed into the presence of Omnipotence. God doesn’t see us alone anymore.

He sees us in Christ Jesus. Our sins are gone. Our nature has been changed. In many ways we just aren’t ourselves anymore. We are encompassed by and swallowed up in Jesus. And it’s a simple fact of life. We look better to God in Christ than we do anywhere else.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

I am perfected in the eyes of God forever because Jesus offered Himself for me.
