Pray For All in Authority

by Keith Butler | The Anointed Word

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty” (1 Tim. 1:1-2 KJV).

God answers prayer. In order to get our prayers answered we must pray in the divine order that God has given us. We pray according to 1 Timothy 2:1-4, for kings and all that are in authority.

The word authority in 1 Timothy 2:2 means an eminent place. An eminent place is where someone has been given authority. For example, the parking lot attendants in our church have authority. They are in an eminent place. They receive their authority from me, the Bishop.

This scripture is referring to anyone who has been given authority or who stand in an eminent place.

Our political leaders need for us to pray for them. They need to be covered by our prayers so that they make the right decisions and to protect them from being snared by the devil.

In this country, the United States of America, we elect a new president every four years. We can pray that God put the right person in office, but once that person is in office we need to pray for them daily. Political party preference does not matter in this case. We are to pray for them daily.

In the body of Christ, God has set ministry gifts of evangelists, pastors, prophets and teachers. He gave us these people so that we could be built up and edified in the things of God. God places our pastors and ministers of the Gospel in authority, so we must pray for them daily as well.

In whatever area there is someone in authority such as, the president of a company, your teacher, police officers, or elected public officials, we are to pray for them daily.

In order for us to prosper and lead a quiet and peaceful life we need to follow God’s divine order of prayer today.
