Receive Guidance

by Vikki Burke | Enriching Life Daily

People who do not have God’s vision are not bothered by their lack of discipline. They have no dream. But those who, through Jesus Christ, have obtained insight into the mysteries of life choose to walk under the guidance of God’s influence. They are the people who will not fail to fulfill any of God’s plans.

Hebrews 6 tells us that Jesus was our forerunner into the presence and promise of God. Jesus stands today as our High Priest in heaven that He might give to us a vision of our redemption and direction. Jesus sent the Spirit of heaven into the earth to plant within us all of the greatness God has for mankind.

Jesus went before us and unlocked all the mysteries of life. The seeds of heaven are deposited within us to possess and retain His vision. Second Peter 1:3-4 says:

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
(2 Peter 1:3-4)

He has given us divine, God-like power and ability to deal with anything we face in life. Jesus obtained them first on our behalf, and as we follow in His footsteps, led by the Spirit of heaven, we will possess and retain all things.

We not only possess land, but we also possess complete liberation: spirit, soul and body. Notice James 4:7, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Through simple submission to God (to His vision, His revelation, His direction) we align ourselves with Him. His power becomes effective within us. Now, when we resist our enemy, God too will stand and fight for us.

Satan will come to take back from us whatever ground we have gained. He won’t come just once or twice, but hundreds of times and in a variety of ways.

Joshua was fully aware that their enemies would try to regain the land. Israel would be responsible for keeping the inheritance they had obtained. Joshua imparted to the people the same qualities that had made him great with God and they accepted the responsibility to maintain their position through serving Jehovah.

Joshua gave this nation vision. He had given them vision to move from aimless wandering to conquering. He had infused them with the vision to dominate the land of their dreams under the guidance of Almighty God.

Joshua’s life had been a life of leadership and a life of service. He had served God faithfully. His service to God was complete, for he had brought God’s nation into the experience of the promise. In his death, as in life, Joshua was crowned with dignity and honor by being called “the servant of the Lord.”

In all we do in life, richness and fulfillment come when we seek to remain a servant of the Lord.
