That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law so even the Gentiles, non-Jews, could experience the blessing God had promised the Jews through Abraham. These blessings are eternal life, health, prosperity and welfare in every area of life.
The Message Bible says: And now, because of that, the air is cleared and we can see that Abraham?s blessing is present and available for non-Jews, too. We are all able to receive God?s life, his Spirit, in and with us by believing—just the way Abraham received it.
Jesus provided for this blessing promised to Abraham. He made a way for it to come to all the people of the world. And what is this way He provided? We can all receive the promise of Spirit and all the Spirit has promised through faith in Jesus Christ.
Christ redeemed me from the curse and penalty of the law by taking it for me.
