For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.
To reign in life means to rule like a king. We are to live and rule like kings. Do kings get up in the morning fearful and ashamed? No, they arise with regal dignity and dominion. We have the royal bloodline of Jesus flowing through us. We also have God’s approval and with it we are to rule the circumstances of our daily living.
The Message Bible says: If death got the upper hand through one man’s wrongdoing, can you imagine the breathtaking recovery life makes, sovereign life, in those who grasp with both hands this wildly extravagant life-gift, this grand setting-everything-right, that the one man Jesus Christ provides?
It isn’t our human ability that qualifies us as rulers. It is the presence of Jesus in our hearts that enables us to overcome adverse situations and live as victorious kings. We are returning everyday from the battle with all the plunder of the enemy.
I have an abundance of God’s grace and righteousness so I reign like a king over my circumstances today.
