Rule and Reign

Today’s Confession: I want Gods best for my life and survival is not His best. He wants to overcome!

In 1992, my ministry was going through possibly the greatest battles I had ever been through. We were basically surviving. Most people had no idea of the kind of pressure we were under because I was still preaching faith and still preaching victory.

I’ve learned to never magnify my problems, but magnify the solution, and the solution is God’s Word. But trust me, we were going through some tough times.

In November of 1992, I was in England at the International Believer’s Convention, and Brother Copeland was preaching the opening night of the service. The Spirit of the Lord began to say some things to me in that service that changed my thinking to this day. Afterwards, I received a supernatural visitation of the Lord.

In that visitation, the Lord said, “My people are in survival mode.” (I could identify with that.)

He said, “Survival is not my best.”

1 John 5:4 does not say, “Whosoever believeth that Jesus is Christ is born of God and whatsoever is born of God surviveth the world.” It says overcometh the world. There’s a major difference in surviving and overcoming, and if you’re not careful, you can develop a survival mentality. When you have a survival mentality then you are limited.

The Lord continued to say, “I will reveal to you the keys that will bring supernatural increase and restoration.” From that moment, my life began to change. The Lord told me to write down everything that Satan had stolen from our ministry over the past five years and then He said, “GET IT BACK”! So I did. And we got it all back. Hallelujah!

When God started dealing with me about restoration, I could identify with that term, because prior to going into ministry, I was in the restoration business. I repaired wrecked automobiles and restored antique and classic cars.

In my business, restore meant to bring back to original or former condition. I would take an old car and restore it back to the way it was when it came from the factory. So, I just assumed that God’s definition of restore was the same as Jerrys Paint & Body Shops definition. But the more I looked into the Word of God, I found out that God’s definition of restoration was not the same as mine.

God’s definition of restoration is to multiply, increase, improve and make better. God never brings you back to original condition. Read the book of Job. God didn’t bring Job back to original condition. He restored him and gave him twice what he lost!

Since that time, I have preached all over the world about supernatural increase and restoration. God restored everything Satan stole from our ministry, and we have received testimonies from people around the globe who have experienced the same.

My point is this – survival is not God’s best. Ruling and reigning is God’s best. If you are surviving today, then I promise you that if you will listen closely to the Word of God and apply it to your life, then your days of survival will be over and your days of ruling and reigning are about to begin.
