Seven Steps to a Scriptural Foundation for Healing

by Jerry Savelle | Healing

1. Know that it is God’s will to heal you.
The Bible declares that it is the will of God that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. It also says that He not only forgives your iniquities, but He heals all your diseases. It was the will of God that Jesus die at Calvary as our substitute. He bore our sickness and disease so we do not have to bear it now (Isa. 53:3-10).

2. Recognize sickness and disease as the work of Satan.
Jesus healed all that were oppressed of the devil. The Bible does not say He healed all that were oppressed of God. Sickness is bondage from the devil; it is captivity. Jesus doesn’t have to use sickness and disease to teach us. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. Therefore, I am redeemed from sickness (Gal. 3:13).

3. Realize that healing begins within.
You must see yourself healed on the inside before you will be healed on the outside. It is not enough to have hands laid on you, and expect somebody else’s faith to do all the work. Allow the Word to form an image of divine health in your spirit first and then your body will respond (Prov. 14:30).

4. Establish a point of contact.
A point of contact will help you release your faith. The moment you say, “By His stripes I am healed,” that is your point of contact. Once you establish your point of contact, then stand on it until the manifestation comes (Mark 5:28).

5. Do not wait for “someday” to release your faith. Release it now!
Faith is now, not in the future. Today is the day for deliverance, healing, preservation, prosperity, safety, and soundness. Reach out and take what belongs to you right now (Heb. 11:1).

6. Shut the door on defeat!
The moment you establish your point of contact and release your faith, you shut the door on the enemy. You must refuse to talk defeat and sickness. Do not talk about what you feel, but what you believe. Stand guard over your mouth (Eph. 4:27).

7. Place yourself in an environment of faith.
When you stand on the Word of God, the devil will try to fill you with doubt and unbelief. Stay in the Word, then an environment of faith will be created around you (Rom. 10:17).
