You can spend the rest of your life sitting around and saying, “Well, when God comes to change me, then I will change.” But let me tell you where change starts.
Change starts with your most sincere effort. Change starts with my willingness to take that first step, because if I want to change, I can change…. And so can you.
The story of the woman who was healed simply by touching the hem of Jesus’ robe gives us a picture of a woman who had every right to give up: She’d spent everything. She had no money.
The doctors had given her a horrible prognosis. She had every right just to lay in her bed and to die there. She had every reason to quit. She could have easily said there will never be any change in my life.
But she did something. She crawled off that mat with her weak, deteriorating body when she heard Jesus coming. She said, “All I have to do is just get close enough to touch Him.”
So she took her little garments and placed them around her and started out into the street. She pressed through the crowd knowing that all she had to do was touch him. Then…there He was…and she touched the hem of His garment.
Do you want to touch Him?
Because the slightest little effort on your part will reap a gigantic reward. All you have to do is say: Help me, Jesus.
