Sitting With God

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day, Devotions

“And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”

(Eph. 2:6)

God raised us from death to life when He raised Jesus. It’s through our union with Jesus that God raises us up to rule in heavenly places with Him. Without Jesus, it isn’t such a pretty picture. God gives us a place of comfort and support in Christ.

The Message Bible says: “Then he picked us up and set us down in highest heaven in company with Jesus, our Messiah.”

We were not there when Jesus was raised from the dead. And we were not there when He sat down at the right hand of God. But Jesus so identified Himself with the human race that when He was raised from the dead we all were raised too. When He sat down at the Father’s right hand, we all did too. Its in Christ we have this benefit. Without Him in our life we are still lost. Jesus became like we are so we can become like He is now.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

I am raised from death unto life and seated at the Father’s right hand in Christ Jesus. I live my life for the glory of God.
