“The yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing” (Isa. 10:27).
The yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. The thought expressed is that the Holy Spirit’s empowering of our lives turns the dull, drab routine existence into an invigorating, exciting, exhilarating experience.
Prayer can change from lifeless formality to energized petition by the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Song services looked upon as a preliminary “warmer-upper” can become exciting worship to the Lord by the anointing of the Spirit.
Preaching that is MONOTONOUS and BORING can become ALIVE and STIMULATING by the anointing of the Spirit. Witnessing that is dreary, drab drudgery performed out of compulsion and guilt can easily become electrifying by the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
With this anointing upon us, you and I can face the future with confidence, expecting that our circumstances are not going to keep us in bondage.
In Isaiah 58:6 the Lord says: “Is not this the fast that I have chosen?…that ye break every yoke?” The anointing of the Holy Spirit on our lives not only will break the yoke that is intended to keep us in bondage, but will also enable us to reach out to others and break the yokes that are keeping them in personal subjection.
Psalm 92:10 says that you and I will be anointed with fresh oil. Our God refreshes us so we can refresh others. He invigorates us so we can invigorate others. He liberates us so we can liberate others. The yoke shall be destroyed because of the invigorating, refreshing anointing of the Holy Spirit.
