The Foundation of God’s Love

by Keith Butler | The Anointed Word

“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock” (Matt. 7:24-25 KJV).

There is a great impact that awaits you whether you obey the sayings of Jesus or not. But I trust that you are a wise person, who will do as Jesus commanded and walk in love in nice situations and in rough ones. By obeying God, you are building a foundation for your life, which Satan cannot cause to crumble under your feet.

The rains and the floods would be test trials, negative events and circumstances that enter your life. Winds blow and beat upon the house of the person that does the word, and it remains standing because it is founded upon doing the words of Jesus.

Further, Jesus said, “And every one that heareth these saying of my and does them not shall be like unto a foolish man that builds his house upon the sands. And the rain descended and the floods came and the winds blew and beat upon that house and it fell. And great was the fall of it.”

The decision whether or not to walk in love will determine whether or not you can endure the tests and trials that beat upon your house.

Note that the winds and floods came against both houses. One fell and the other did not. Clearly, the difference was whether or not one was obedient to the sayings of Jesus. And His greatest saying was that you love one another.

When you make the quality decision to walk in love at all times, then you can say just as Jesus said, Satan “…hath nothing in me” (John 14:30). Satan didn’t have any part of Jesus, because He walked in total love. Total love is what shielded Him. Total love is what produced the force field that allowed Jesus to function in dangerous situations.

When you walk in the love of God, you are establishing a solid foundation on which to stand. It is a foundation that cannot be shaken by the tests and trials of life. And since it cannot be shaken, then that means that when the dust settles, you remain standing firm on the Word of God, seeing His blessings manifest in your life.
