“‘They shall be Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts, On the day that I make them My Jewels…” (Mal. 3:17 NKJ).
This verse has always stirred my imagination to visualize the great circle of celestial beings gathered around the throne of God. The throne is majestic and awesome because the Lord God of Hosts is seated on it. Around Him all the angels are in attendance and the whole heavenly assembly stands and gazes with rapture upon the power center of the universe.
I also visualize a circle of redeemed saints encompassing the throne like a great rainbow. The beautiful and most breathtaking aspect of this magnificent assembly is the fact that the circle is unbroken. The reason it is complete is because God’s will has finally been done on earth as it is in heaven.
The Lord’s promise that all those who are to come to know Him will be there on the day He makes us His Jewels has guaranteed the completion of the circle of the redeemed. I know from Scripture, however, that not every person on earth will be there in that circle.
I have met people who say they do not want to be there. God will not force them to come. He invites people to enter the Kingdom of heaven; He doesn’t coerce them into it. But He does declare in His Word that His place is for the salvation of the whole family.
If there are members of your family who do not yet know the Lord, quote Malachi 3:17 aloud and make it part of your fourfold confession of faith: 1) “There is a circle around the throne of God.” 2) “It is a family circle.” 3) “It is my family circle.” 4) “The circle will not be broken! All my family will be there!” Praise the Lord!
