Things Above

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day

Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.

(Col. 3:2 NASB)

Jesus sat down at the right hand of God and we are there with Him. So keep your mind set on the things that are above, rather than setting your mind on the cares and worries of the lower earth life. Jesus has much to show us about higher life living, and He wants to do it now, while we are still down here.

The Message Bible says: Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from His perspective.

Having our minds full of thoughts about our problems never solves any of them. But if we set our mind and emotions on Jesus and His higher ways, He will inspire new, heavenly perspectives. Remember the solutions to all of our problems are just a thought away.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

I do not dwell on earthly thinking. I give my mind and my emotions to things above where Jesus sits at the right hand of God.
