To Seek And To Save

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day

“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

(Luke 19:10)

The phase “come to seek and to save” implies that there is more to it than simply dying for us on the cross. If that was it, He could have simply come to save the lost. But Jesus has also come to seek for all “that” which was lost concerning mankind.

That means God takes responsibility for us and has provided not only the means of salvation, but also the process of that salvation working in us daily.

The Message Bible says: “For the Son of Man came to find and restore the lost.”

Jesus came to restore all that was lost. He, by His Spirit, intends to restore you back to full fellowship with the Father. He will renew your authority as a believer, rekindle the flame of adventure and exploration in your soul, and He will resolve all differences between you and God with the blood He shed.

The result is you, and all you were intended to be, are now saved and restored, better than the original.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

Jesus, the Son of man, has come to seek me out and save all that I am and ever will be for the glory of God.
