Meditating on the Word
There is a quotation many of us have heard before that says,” Watch your thoughts, for they become words. Watch your words, for they become actions. Watch your actions, for they become habits…”
That’s a long way of saying that what you think eventually gets into your heart and out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Luke 6:45 ).
What the Word Says:
As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. (Prov. 23:7 NKJV)
For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. (Matt. 12:34-35 NLT)
Study this book of instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. (Josh. 1:8 NLT)
Thinking God’s Way:
1) Casting down stupid thoughts.
Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. (2 Cor. 10:5 KJV)
2) Fix your thoughts on good things.
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. (Phil. 4:8 NLT)
3) Guard your heart.
Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it springs the issues of life. (Prov. 4:23 NKJV)
What to Remember:
Be thoughtful about what you watch, read, and listen to.
Let’s keep God’s Word our focus day and night. Let’s say what He says about us — let’s confess the Word!
