When God Speaks

by Sharah LaGail Wyatt | Uncategorized

What is the most important voice in your life? What voice sends a note of excitement every time you hear its first tone? What voice is so dear to you that you would never, ever tire of hearing it—no matter what words are used or issues are being discussed?

While many look to their parents, best friend, or favorite teacher…still others cling to the “never-to-be-forgotten” words of military heroes and national leaders. All too often, as good as those voices are, they just don’t have what it takes to successfully navigate you into the full reality of your divine destiny.

One Voice
People can be a wonderful blessing in your life and many of their words can prove to be a real help. But only ONE VOICE can lead you to a life of heaven on earth…. Only ONE VOICE can bring you to the fulfillment of your dreams…. In the entire universe, there’s nothing more important than when God speaks.

There’s nothing I love more than hearing the voice of God. It doesn’t always matter what He speaks to me, just to hear His voice moves me beyond anything I could attempt to describe.

When you’re really in love with someone, you want to hang onto every little word they say…along with every tone and inflection with which it was spoken. That’s the way it should be with the voice of God.

Sure I love it when God tells me how much He loves me or how pleased He is with me. But even when He speaks with the voice of correction, I still love to hear His voice.

Actually, the most beautiful times I’ve had in His presence are times when He’s correcting me. I’ve come to know that His correction is a product of His awesome love. (Heb. 12:5-6)

It’s only a true friend, only a person who truly loves you and cares about you that will let you know (in love, of course) when you’re wrong or heading down a path of unseen danger. That’s exactly why God warns and corrects us. He loves us so much that He wants to let us know that there’s something we’re doing that, if not corrected, will lead us to an undesirable outcome.

Living in His Fullness
You’ve heard the saying “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” right? Well, one such application of that principle is learning to love and obey the voice of God.

Whether it’s direction or correction, warning or intimate love-words…when His Voice is the most important voice in your life, you are well on your way to living in His fullness of life.

“Then God said… ‘Let there be light’ and there was light.” (Gen. 1.3) No doubt, it will bring light to your life, too, when you’re listening to hear God speak.

“I will hear what God, the Lord, will speak, for He will speak peace to His people and to His saints.” (Psalm 85.8)
