“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. “And these signs will follow those who believe: In my name…they will speak with new tongues.” (Mark 16:15-17)
The gift of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues follows the salvation experience. First Corinthians 14:4 says, “He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself….” To edify means “to strengthen or to build up your inner man.”

When I transferred to Oral Roberts University during the second semester of my sophomore year, the baptism with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of praying in other tongues was not a part of my life. I read the book They Speak with Other Tongues by John Sherrill, and it answered my questions about tongues.

Later, I attended a church that taught on the baptism of the Holy Spirit. When the pastor asked, “How many want to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit?” I raised my hand because now I understood why I needed to pray in tongues. Before anyone could lay hands on me, I began speaking in tongues.

When Jesus said, “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water” (John 7:38 KJV), He was speaking about the Holy Spirit.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues and interpreting your tongues, will quicken your mind. As the Spirit of God flows through you, He generates power in your life, helping you to live in victory. You need God’s power flowing through you.

DECLARATION OF FAITHI will build myself up on my most holy faith every day by praying in the Holy Spirit and interpreting what I speak in other tongues. (Jude 20; 1 Cor. 14:13)
