There is a true story of a young man in a railroad station who was watching an elderly gentleman read the signs up on the wall that were in very small print.
The young man was thinking, “How can that man, being as old as he is, read that small print?” Then he noticed that the older gentleman’s hair was still a thick, rich black. When the gentleman turned around and smiled, the young observer could tell his teeth were still his own. The young man was so overwhelmed, he finally went up to the man and said, “Sir, can I ask how old are you?” The gentleman said, “I’m 90.”
At this, the young observer said, “It’s obvious you’re in great shape. You haven’t lost your hair or your teeth, and you can read signs I can hardly read. Why is this so?”
The gentleman replied, “From an early age I realized that the Word of God said you get what you say. So, I have spoken all my life that my hair is thick and full of color, that my teeth shall not depart far from me” and he named several other confessions. At last, he said, “I confess these things every day. Everybody thought I was an idiot when I was young, but now that I’m getting older they’re beginning to realize I wasn’t an idiot after all.”
Do you see that Jesus told the truth when He said in Mark 11:23 that you can have whatever you say?
A large percentage of the people who will read this will have ratified the covenant by confessing Jesus as Lord and Savior. But are they getting all of the blessings that are promised to them?
Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Do you want joy in your life? Proverbs 15:23 says, “A man has joy by the answer of his mouth….” The Word of God is telling you your life is determined by what you say. Let every moment be an adventure in your Christian life.
