Praise the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ for the spiritual blessings that Christ has brought us from heaven!
(Eph. 1:3)
Whether you realize it or not, every spiritual blessing there is belongs to you. One of those spiritual blessings is authority. In Luke 10:19 Jesus says, “I have given you the power to trample on snakes and scorpions and to defeat the power of your enemy Satan. Nothing can harm you.”
We know that we are in spiritual warfare with a real enemy (read Ephesians 6:12).
Praise the Lord he has given us authority over evil spirits and everything Satan can bring against us. In our combat with the devil, we should always keep this mentality: We have authority over Satan because Jesus went to the cross.
This authority belongs to everyone who is a child of God. We have all been given the Name of Jesus, and we should use it when we pray. It cost Jesus His life to give us that name! God Himself is the power behind our authority, and the devil and his forces must recognize our authority.
Take for example a policeman. A policeman has been given authority over the people to uphold the law. What good would that policeman be if he didn’t understand or use his authority?
In the same way, God has given us power over the enemy to uphold His law on this earth. When the devil begins to war with you and tries to go against God’s will, don’t be like the worthless policeman, use the authority God has given you!
Authority has been given unto you!
