Two months ago, my oldest daughter returned from a trip to Israel with Christians United for Israel. Her connection with the Jewish people and the recency of her journey have made the attack of Oct 7, 2023, very personal to our family. This attack was 50 years after the Yom Kippur War, during Shabbat, a Jewish holiday observing their Sabbath or the day of rest. 

We don't have to sit by and watch Israel walk through this horror alone. We can pray and support Israel, for it is through prayer that God is able to work! As Pastor Lynne Hammond has said, "Prayer prepares the way!" As Christians, we should never forget that if not for the Jews, we would not have our spiritual inheritance. As citizens of the United States, we pray that we continue to support Israel and stand up for the Jewish people. 

So read through these Scriptures and pray Psalm 20 over Israel! 

Matthew 25:32 NKJV All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 



Romans 11:17-18 NLT 
But some of these branches from Abraham’s tree—some of the people of Israel—have been broken off. And you Gentiles, who were branches from a wild olive tree, have been grafted in. So now you also receive the blessing God has promised Abraham and his children, sharing in the rich nourishment from the root of God’s special olive tree. But you must not brag about being grafted in to replace the branches that were broken off. You are just a branch, not the root.

Psalm 20 NKJV
May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble;
May the name of the God of Jacob defend you;
May He send you help from the sanctuary,
And strengthen you out of Zion;
May He remember all your offerings,
And accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah
May He grant you according to your heart’s desire,
And fulfill all your purpose.
We will rejoice in your salvation,
And in the name of our God we will set up our banners!
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.
Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed;
He will answer him from His holy heaven
With the saving strength of His right hand.
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;
But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
They have bowed down and fallen;
But we have risen and stand upright.
Save, Lord!
May the King answer us when we call.
